Today is a happy occasion for both Senator Mar and broadcaster Korina. It is their wedding day. It was supposed to be really grand in line with Mar’s Presidential bid but then political event stepped in and Mar is now a VP candidate running alongside Sen. Noy Aquino. With this in mind, I do hope that their marriage lasts for a long time and that they have found a partner with each other which is quite hard nowadays. Please see the story I wrote about it in ManilaInformer.com
My friend is about to break up with her partner and it saddens me therefore I made the title as it is. I hope they get things settled. So my question, to love or not to love at all? This is confusing. But I guess there are happy endings as well as there are sad ones.
Ta ta for now!
XOXO

Our master rapper and stalwart Filipino musician/artist just died at the age of 44 leaving behind him wife, Pia and their kids. He died at the age of 44. He died today at 12:20PM at the Medical City in Mandaluyong. He was already undergoing several chemotheraphy sessions since he was diagnosed with leukemia last year. He had become too weak to fight it. He died of sepsis as a complication of his leukemia. He will be sorely missed and I will forever remember him being the father of Filipino rap and being very proud of his country…
Adieu Francis M., you are going to a better place. May his soul rest in peace.

A 4th grader boy yesterday got killed accidentally when a van hit him inside the Ateneo de Manila University in Quezon City. The victim’s name is Julian Carlo Miguel Alcantara and he was 10 years old. He was brought to the hospital and was pronounced dead upon arrival at the New Era Hospital. He was walking along with his 65-year old nanny when they were hit by a van. The driver of the van was also a mom who was trying to pick up her son but instead got in a tragic accident with another mom’s son. As a mom, I feel this. The death of an innocent boy in this tragic accident is very sad for me. And to think he was only 10 years old. I’m sure that his mother is going to be traumatized. The driver of the van who hit the boy and the nanny was actually hysterical too when she was brought to the police station. The nanny sustained several fractures but has survived the accident. This is really saddening and very traumatizing for all those who witnessed the accident inside the campus. God bless the poor boy’s soul. May he rest in peace and may he be surrounded by angels.

After negotiations almost falling off the table, it has already been finalized.
A Pacquiao and Hatton match up inside the boxing ring is already set. It will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this coming May 2, 2009. It is going to be a 12-round match for Hatton’s World Junior Welterweight Championship. Manny, 5 division champion and Ring Magazine’s Best Pound for Pound Fighter in the World, will battle Hatton, Ring Magazine and IBO World Junior Welterweight Champion. For sure this is going to be an exciting fight. Manny has even made comments that he might retire after this fight.
Does Manny have what it takes? Is he going to take down Hatton or will he bow down to Hatton in this most awaited and is now being dubbed as the “Fight of the Year”. I sure am excited to see how the end will go and who will emerge victorious in this fight. I am afraid for Manny but I can’t help but feel excited at the thought of the match too and I hope that Manny is going to give Hatton a run for his money. And speaking of money, I think that this fight regardless of who wins or not is going to make both players rich in their pockets.
So to all of you Filipinos out there lucky enough to be in Las Vegas during this time. I hope you guys watch it and support our Filipino Champ. I’m crossing my fingers.

It has been front page news on the dailies as well as in tv. The war between Israeli government against the Palestinian Hamas Group. Thousands of civilians have already been involved in this cruel and bad war. It has come to a point that the UN has decided to take action and end the animosity that has resulted in countless of casualties because of this never ending feud between Israel and Palestine. This war is a land dispute between the 2 feuding parties. Actually a dispute over a strip of land, border and water. You can read HERE for more information regarding the conflict in detail. Women and children have been involved and killed and they are deemed as collateral damage. What brutality these innocent people have suffered and how senseless their deaths. Peace measures must already be in the process to stop further bloodshed between the 2 parties. They must give peace a chance. Activists, politicians, Hollywood stars and many others have already aired out their sentiments against the Israeli government to halt the war but still up until this writing nothing seems to be stopping them. Just today, early morning around 50 activists rallied outside MY office building in protest against the Israeli government since their embassy is located here. I don’t know how this long standing feud will end but I do hope that they will give PEACE a chance. What do you guys think about this war?
Story for the rally in Makati is HERE.

This is something of a rant. I feel frustrated actually. In the previous months we saw the rising prices of fuel so our transport community did their strikes to be able to raise the cost of commuter’s fare and raise they did. They added to the usual fare and well I was pretty happy about that since I also felt for the plight of the drivers but now I am agitated. Now when the prices of oil has seen major rollbacks, the transport group takes its SWEET time in reducing our fare. Why does this happen? When its an increase, they want it fast but when its a decrease of fare, they take their ungodly time. They have taken advantage of the situation now. They say they are still not earning, heck if they are not then why are they still driving public transportation? I am an everyday commuter and as such feel the brunt and the frustration that when the prices of fuel has gone down nothing much is being done to lower down the fare as well. Quite convenient for drivers if you ask me. When its in their own best interest, they want it done fast but if its not, then it takes forever to have it done and they have all these excuses. I tell you, this SUCKS! Sucks big time! Most of all for the students who can barely go to school and for everybody trying to make a living. I could save up those 2 or 1 pesos for another day and make my savings bigger. Commuters unite!
