Today is a happy occasion for both Senator Mar and broadcaster Korina. It is their wedding day. It was supposed to be really grand in line with Mar’s Presidential bid but then political event stepped in and Mar is now a VP candidate running alongside Sen. Noy Aquino. With this in mind, I do hope that their marriage lasts for a long time and that they have found a partner with each other which is quite hard nowadays. Please see the story I wrote about it in ManilaInformer.com
My friend is about to break up with her partner and it saddens me therefore I made the title as it is. I hope they get things settled. So my question, to love or not to love at all? This is confusing. But I guess there are happy endings as well as there are sad ones.
Ta ta for now!
XOXO

After negotiations almost falling off the table, it has already been finalized.
A Pacquiao and Hatton match up inside the boxing ring is already set. It will be held at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas this coming May 2, 2009. It is going to be a 12-round match for Hatton’s World Junior Welterweight Championship. Manny, 5 division champion and Ring Magazine’s Best Pound for Pound Fighter in the World, will battle Hatton, Ring Magazine and IBO World Junior Welterweight Champion. For sure this is going to be an exciting fight. Manny has even made comments that he might retire after this fight.
Does Manny have what it takes? Is he going to take down Hatton or will he bow down to Hatton in this most awaited and is now being dubbed as the “Fight of the Year”. I sure am excited to see how the end will go and who will emerge victorious in this fight. I am afraid for Manny but I can’t help but feel excited at the thought of the match too and I hope that Manny is going to give Hatton a run for his money. And speaking of money, I think that this fight regardless of who wins or not is going to make both players rich in their pockets.
So to all of you Filipinos out there lucky enough to be in Las Vegas during this time. I hope you guys watch it and support our Filipino Champ. I’m crossing my fingers.

It has been front page news on the dailies as well as in tv. The war between Israeli government against the Palestinian Hamas Group. Thousands of civilians have already been involved in this cruel and bad war. It has come to a point that the UN has decided to take action and end the animosity that has resulted in countless of casualties because of this never ending feud between Israel and Palestine. This war is a land dispute between the 2 feuding parties. Actually a dispute over a strip of land, border and water. You can read HERE for more information regarding the conflict in detail. Women and children have been involved and killed and they are deemed as collateral damage. What brutality these innocent people have suffered and how senseless their deaths. Peace measures must already be in the process to stop further bloodshed between the 2 parties. They must give peace a chance. Activists, politicians, Hollywood stars and many others have already aired out their sentiments against the Israeli government to halt the war but still up until this writing nothing seems to be stopping them. Just today, early morning around 50 activists rallied outside MY office building in protest against the Israeli government since their embassy is located here. I don’t know how this long standing feud will end but I do hope that they will give PEACE a chance. What do you guys think about this war?
Story for the rally in Makati is HERE.

I wonder how many people won on their bets last Sunday as the Philippines and probably the whole world as well watched the boxing match between Oscar “the golden boy” dela Hoya and Manny “the pacman” Pacquaio. The streets were close to empty as me and
the mom were out grocery shopping early in the morning and we even tried to hurry out of SM so that we will not miss any of it. But as we were going home, a trisikad driver already informed us that Manny has already won. Now, I wanted to see how intense the fight was. Tyson even wished Manny well and was rooting for him to win. Admittedly, I did have my doubts what with Oscar who has held 10 world boxing titles and an Olympic gold medal to boot. I was scared for Manny and apart from that the fact that dela Hoya is a couple of inches taller than Manny and therefore his reach is longer. How will Manny fight Oscar? I really had my doubts but as Sir B told me, half of the fight is the drive to really win and with Manny, he had everything to gain. With Oscar, he has already proven a lot to world. At 35, he has gained a lot. So the fight would just be a sort of test to see if he could still do it.
The house was in a flurry of activity when the mom and I arrived. We immediately took our seats and the whole family was there. We were all cheering for Pacman. It’s time like this that I feel nationalistic and proud to be a Filipino. We were all cheering and shouting our hearts out. When the fight started, it was really clear that Oscar was way taller than Manny and that he was bigger than Manny was but Manny was faster than he was. I thought that I would be able to witness a strong fight. Neck to neck but all that I could see was a weary Oscar dela Hoya who had no fire bursting in his eyes. Fire to win, fire to fight. It was a weary and old man who was facing Manny. Manny was very fast. He had fast feet and fast punches. It was no contest. During the first few rounds I could immediately foretell that it was our very own Manny who was going to bring home the bacon so to speak. And bring it home he did. HE won when dela Hoya gave up at the start of the 9th round. He was already suffering a bloodied head while Manny was just as fresh as he was in the 1st round of their fight. No contest at all that I felt that the battle between Manny and Marquez had more thrill than this fight with dela Hoya. This win puts us even more on the world map for producing one of the world’s greatest boxers in the guise of Manny Pacquaio.
Congratulations Manny! Mabuhay ang mga Pilipino!!!!

Just in from CNN.com, the new president of the United States of America is Barack Obama. John McCain has already conceded defeat and now history has been made for the first ever African-American to sit at the White House. Barack Obama, the

the 44th President of the USA
charismatic and erstwhile senator from Illinois has succeeded in winning the hearts of the American people. He has been hailed as the “change” that America needs at this time of crisis and now his administration will be challenged with bringing the American economy up and about. I wonder what this means for the Philippines and the Filipinos in America. I hope that Barrack Obama can indeed be the “change” that the world needs. This election has also been hailed as the one with the biggest voter turnout so far in the American history. Go Barack Obama and may your administration do this world a lot of good. I look forward to his presidency.

I woke up relatively early last Monday and quite ready to face the day. Had breakfast and then left the house at around 8:30 AM not knowing what was awaiting me. As I was seated on the bus, I felt myself going to sleep because I did not have long uninterrupted sleep because of zoe. Did my daily prayers and then watched the same buildings passing by the window and all was relatively at peace until I reached the Coastal Toll Gate. The bus that I was in was slowing down because it was getting ready to stop and pay the required toll and right before my very eyes, I saw a car going at a fast speed totally without control and ran right smack into the orange MMDA barriers that were located at the sides. Wow! I saw it happen so fast. I could not think properly. I was straining my neck and saw that the passenger side in the front was heavily smashed up and the passengers, the driver and the other one, were leaning in their seats so I think they were quite ok except of course for a few broken bones or something. I was so engrossed in finding out if they were ok or not that I did not notice that the car ahead of them had also bumped into a barrier and had the engine part really smashed up good. Out came the young driver of the silver car obviously at a loss as to how he figured in that accident. He had that shocked look on his face. And then a few meters away, I came upon a van that also was included in the accident. The back had been severely bumped into. The petrol was flowing out of its tank. The driver was lying down and holding his arm in the driver seat. It was some kind of a collision. And then as I looked at the side, I saw a woman sitting down with her legs spread and people were crowding around her. I think that she got hit somewhat but not too severely. What a crash! I could feel my heart pounding because it seemed to be a really bad vehicular accident involving a lot of vehicles and people at that too. I couldn’t see any blood and that kind of comforted me. But it was really a scary sight to watch and I do hope that everyone was ok and nothing bad happened to all those that were involved in the accident. It was quite harrowing to watch and very early in the morning for the accident.
