Am sure all of you are drooling just with the mere mention of a french culinary delight. Lucky me I have a French grand aunt who cooks really well and while I was in CDEO, she gave me another incentive to visit there this coming Christmas. Having just recently been to visit CDEOC to get in touch with High School friends to organize our 10th year anniversary and homecoming, I was quite taken aback. I left CDEOC to study in Cebu and lived in Cebu for close to 9years and I cannot fathom why some of my classmates still haven’t grown up that much, particularly the boys. Probably it has to something to do with the psychological make-up of a person. Normally girls mature faster than boys. They seemed glad and at the same time shocked in seeing me after more than 8 years of absence. Inside and outside I was already a different person. They quite couldn’t believe their eyes that the same girl who used to play “chinese garter, patintero and etc.” has grown up and some of them were hesitant to approach. Gosh, I did have fun and it was nice to get to know some of them better and already grown up and being good citizens of the world, others were just the same as they were in high school which was quite disappointing and some were still bumming around although it’s not my business anymore what they do with their lives because it is their’s and not mine. High School, Oh my high school life. It was fun during those years when all you needed to worry about was your dwindling allowance and when we did not have the worries of adulthood like today…
We are going to be having our reunion this year, this December and I am hoping that I could catch up with long lost friends and renew ties and also get to know other batch mates that I have never interacted with before.

It’s been quite a while since I got to go and see the airport. I haven’t been anywhere until last saturday, November 22 when I went to CDEOC. I was apprehensive since I didn’t know how to get to the airport because it was my first time with the new terminal. Got on a bus and stopped at Coastal and then rode a taxi to the airport since no public transportation passes thru there. I was amazed. It is an international airport. Nicer chairs, bigger lounges, a walkalator and super nice floors and a lot of food stalls for the travelers. Soon, I’m guessing that they will put up a shopping mall inside.Wow! But one thing that amazed me was to see this man, calmly sleeping on the chairs without a care in the world. Probably just tired.

Tomorrow is my first flight in over a year and I am going back to my roots. To the place where I was born and raised and where my memories are plentiful. I am going home to Cagayan de Oro City after more than 8 years of absence. I haven’t been home in a while and I am excited to see relatives and friends alike and spend some quality time with them because I don’t know when I will be back again to visit. It is also a business trip in the sense that I am organizing our 10th year reunion for my high school friends and I will have to finalize the venue and everything else in this trip so I am going to be busy but I also look forward to doing white water rafting with my cousins and friends. This is one sport that Cdeo offers that is unique to my hometown. I am raring to get my taste of it especially to a thrill seeker like me this represents an adventure of sorts. Although I am hesitant to leave Z behind I also know that she will be in the capable hands of my Mom. And I really need this vacation after all that happened the past year. This is my first break but still its going to be pleasure mixed with business. Hopefully I can allocate time for everybody.
