Physical Examinations and my most recent experience with it….

Well I passed the final interview and was then led by the HR associate to their HR room and given this list of requirements for pre-employment. Of course the already staple physical exam was ever present. My tale is that when I got my PE I was with sister troiks as we were getting our salary from our project work… Well we got to the place after being adventurers about its direction and I went through the whole process…urine and etc…hahahah! Anyway, just my luck that the lady doctor was not present because she was on leave so the only doctor available to do a physical was a male one…uh uh! He was a good old kindly doctor who explained to me that he needed to do a breast examination himself because the female doctor was not around. I was quite taken at first but I just put aside all feelings and forced myself to be clinical like the doctor was. He asked me if it was ok and told me that he will have a nurse inside with us to be quite formal about the whole thing. Was I relieved! I have had a dozen PE’s from before and always it was a female doctor who did a breast examination and this was the first time ever that a male doctor will do it. He told me to take off my shirt and bra and just cover it with the blanket that they provided. After doing them, I took a deep breath and prepared for the examination. When he came back in the room with a nurse I was trying to distract myself by talking to him and he seemed to be cooperating. His bedside manner was quite professional and clinical that I did not feel that mortified. He did the examination in a very good way. I didn’t feel at all bad about the whole thing even though it was quite new for me.

So, ladies have you had your breast examined already? This is very important for all women out there because breast cancer is one of the leading causes of death for women. Have your breasts checked out regularly… We all owe it to ourselves!

My Oatmeal Diet: A lunch treat!

instant-original-detailsflbashxIn my quest to really stick to a diet that is good and will do wonders for my weight as well as for my health I started eating oatmeal for the past 2 weeks. I eat it in lieu of a complete lunch and it actually feels good that now when I rarely do eat lunch, my stomach tells me that it doesn’t want the additional weight. I have gotten used to the OATS. Many studies say that eating oats lowers your cholesterol and helps with your weight management. I would like to think so. Although I am not really overweight or anything, I have always dreamed to be around a 100LBS only. My weight in high school was just 98LBS and I was very skinny way back then. I want to thin out a little as well as keep myself healthy because really the most important thing that we should think about is our health because without it, we would be useless. Health is very important and I think that Filipinos have actually been on the way to not eating healthy lately as per recent studies that say that Filipinos nowadays are getting more obese than they were a couple of years ago. I like this oatmeal eating diet. It actually does not cost much and gives me more a better cholesterol level. Now, I am planning to have it for lunch and for dinner before 6pm.

So guys and gals, join me in my Oatmeal crusade…hehehehe!

Note: This is not for the faint of heart. hahahhahaha! :)

A Prayer for my Good friend K!

Life is really not fair. Just had some news that a good friend of mine is suffering from the BIG C. He had it years ago and that was the reason why they amputated one of his legs but even after that he kept on living and kept on playing soccer, his favorite sport even with just 1 leg. He was a living example that even if you are somewhat crippled that you can still do so many things. He did not think that it was a hindrance. He made it not a hindrance but a challenge to overcome and overcome it he did. After many years, the C recurred and it has become a force to be reckoned with. Right now, he is at Stage 4 of the C. My sorrow is endless. My prayers go out to God for him and his family and for this trial that they are facing. He has 3 small kids with his lovely wife and this makes it all the more sadder. I was on the phone with him earlier. His enthusiasm is still there but I detect sad undertones. Life is really not fair. He who is such a contribution to this world. Why him? We would all think that but then again we do not know God’s reasons for things. Plans are already laid out for us by God and sometimes reasons for things escape us but later on we figure them out somehow. I pray for K, that he may have the strength to face all the trials that he is facing right now, I pray for his family, may they be strong during this ordeal and most of all I pray for a miracle…

At the end of the day, all we can do is just PRAY!

For all my blog visitors and readers, please help me pray for my friend K. Your prayers are very much appreciated.

Pinhole Glasses – An alternative to the Bespectacled You.

Most of us suffer from eye disorders ranging from astigmatism, computer vision syndrome, cataracts and a lot more and traditionally prescription glasses are the common answer to the problem. Me, I suffer from astigmatism and as such wear prescription glasses to make my vision clear. So, now I found out that there is an alternative to the prescription glasses. Introducing, the pinhole glasses. By clicking on the link for pinhole glasses it will direct you to a website explaining how pinhole glasses can be a better alternative to the traditional prescription glasses. Pinhole eyeglasses are being sold in the website that I have linked to so you can check out the benefits of using these glasses and the reason why they can be better than the prescription glasses that we are used to. They also have testimonials from the people that have used the glasses for your reference. Pinhole glasses are made out of precision-manufactured lightweight perforated plastic lenses, inset into standard metal or plastic spectacle frames. They are most ideal for those who suffer from refractive eye disorders, the elderly and for computer users like me. The website explains in detail what pinhole glasses are made of and how they are less expensive than the prescription ones and they just might save you money. The website gives you some information about the benefits of pinhole glasses and how one pair can be suited to all so you don’t need to purchase another set of glasses for reading or for when you are in front of the computer. The website also explains how pinhole glasses work so you are given detailed information on them. There is also an FAQ page where you can have the answers to the most common questions about pinhole glasses. And if you are not still contented with the information on the website, you can get in touch with them at their contact page.

Day 5,6,7 & 8: Temptations abound

I have been waking up early and then doing crunches and then having my meals without rice and it has been quite a challenge for the Philippines has rice as a staple in our diets. So it has been really hard but I’ve done it before already and was able to do it although I miss the very full feeling that rice gives you and the satisfaction as well. So I continued on with the diet and exercise regimen. But just today and yesterday at lunch I did eat rice and I will confess to that. About half a cup. The meal was so good. For yesterday it was Persia Grill with delicious lamb chops and biryani’s while for today it was “authentic” Negros dishes like La Paz Batchoy and the like. Nothing much to report except that the office has been in a lazy atmosphere just this week in anticipation of the coming vacation. We will have no more work from Dec. 23 – January 05. Whopee! I can’t wait.

The continuing exercise saga!

Day 2: The achy pains of starting again

I had forgotten how painful it would be coming from not exercising to exercising. The achy pain associated with the aftershocks of the exercise that has become alien to your system. I woke up and for the rest of the day had no rice with my meals. Just pure vegetables and meat and salads. Was not able to exercise but ended up walking throughout SM and there exercised my legs thoroughly. Whew! I still had the aches and pains though. I succeeded in not having any rice with meals. Felt lighter. More happy! hahahahah! Or maybe I am just imagining it.

Day 3: Just the same routine, no rice with meals. Crunches for my abs and more on fruits and vegetables and lots of water intake.

Day 4: Exercised as soon as I woke up, had no rice with meals and then went off to work and had more water intake. Some walking exercise while I was depositing my money. That is basically it. Off to go home now, I’d probably buy a pastry or something to tide me over for dinner because its going to take me a long time in commuting home again. Arrrggghh!
