“Twilight” by Stephenie Meyer : A book Review and Movie update

twilight_galleryposterWhoever said vampires were outdated. I came upon this book as introduced by my friend G. She and some of her friends were very much taken with it that I decided to find out what the hullabaloo was about this book. I did not have any inkling what the storyline was and I did not know anything about its author Stephenie Meyer. I must admit, just the fact that it had vampires in them was enough to make me want to read the book. So I asked G for an e-book and she was kind enough to send me “Twilight”, the first book in the series.

I started to read it in the office. It was in pdf format so pretty much okay. I was first intrigued and then later on very much also taken with the story of Bella Swan and Edward Cullen, the 2 main characters of the story. The story itself was nice and the only thing that I don’t like much about it is the fact that it is set in high school. I wanted a more mature setting to be honest. But hey, the book was very interesting and now I could relate to what the fuss was all about. I found it just the right pace. Not too slow, not too fast with regards to story development. All the characters were very well depicted and described that you could almost see them as you poured over the words. I finished it in 2 hours with some “work” breaks. I liked it and will add this to my list of good stuff to read. While reading it in the office I would involuntary smile to myself as well as exclaim to myself. My officemates thought I was going bonkers. I look forward to the big screen this coming November 21 as they are showing “Twilight” on the big screen. I also searched for the “Twilight” trailer and I was not disappointed.
