SNOW WORLD @ Star City: A threesome adventure

Yesterday night me and 2 of my officemates had this really funny and spontaneous thought – to go to Snow World @ Star City. I have been hearing a lot about it but haven’t had the time to visit so yesterday night after work we went to Star City to explore it and of course to play in the snow. We its snow time!were like kids, going into an entertainment park and we were all laughing with glee about how there were just 3 of us going on the adventure. Star City had a lot of rides to offer and we enjoyed watching other people shout and enjoy themselves on the rides. I saw that there was even a pool with the medicinal fish and I will try this out the next time that I visit. We first had dinner and then we paid our tickets. It was a total of PHP 160 for the entrance and unlimited entry to Snow World. We stood in line and were so excited and we even planned to use our cellphones and cameras once inside although there was a big sign there that no cameras or cellphones should be used inside to take photos because they had their own photographers. Business is business! So, there was this lady distributing plastic for the cellphones and other gadgets. We had to put our gadgets inside the plastic and tie it. We did and then we lined up to get our jackets. They do provide jackets as it can be quite cold out there. We excitedly put the jackets on and prepared ourselves for a cool adventure. And then, we were going inside. And was it super cold. They had ice sculptures and a machine that made snow flakes and we were freezing. I could feel my hands getting numb but we were happy. It’s like when you were little and you discovered a new toy. For me personally that was how it felt. hahahahah! Even if we were freezing and I could feel the cold seep into my bones I was happy. Friend A and I even did the “slide down the ice” thing twice with friend G just once. We enjoyed ourselves and even if our butts were dragged through ice it was a very enjoyable experience. We even went as far as to bring out our cellphones and take pictures as well as the camera that we brought and we were discovered but then we just laughed and then went out. We had ourselves photographed by their resident photog for PHP 100/shot. We got 2 nice shots. Very happy and fun night! Thanks friend A & G.

Day 5,6,7 & 8: Temptations abound

I have been waking up early and then doing crunches and then having my meals without rice and it has been quite a challenge for the Philippines has rice as a staple in our diets. So it has been really hard but I’ve done it before already and was able to do it although I miss the very full feeling that rice gives you and the satisfaction as well. So I continued on with the diet and exercise regimen. But just today and yesterday at lunch I did eat rice and I will confess to that. About half a cup. The meal was so good. For yesterday it was Persia Grill with delicious lamb chops and biryani’s while for today it was “authentic” Negros dishes like La Paz Batchoy and the like. Nothing much to report except that the office has been in a lazy atmosphere just this week in anticipation of the coming vacation. We will have no more work from Dec. 23 – January 05. Whopee! I can’t wait.

The continuing exercise saga!

Day 2: The achy pains of starting again

I had forgotten how painful it would be coming from not exercising to exercising. The achy pain associated with the aftershocks of the exercise that has become alien to your system. I woke up and for the rest of the day had no rice with my meals. Just pure vegetables and meat and salads. Was not able to exercise but ended up walking throughout SM and there exercised my legs thoroughly. Whew! I still had the aches and pains though. I succeeded in not having any rice with meals. Felt lighter. More happy! hahahahah! Or maybe I am just imagining it.

Day 3: Just the same routine, no rice with meals. Crunches for my abs and more on fruits and vegetables and lots of water intake.

Day 4: Exercised as soon as I woke up, had no rice with meals and then went off to work and had more water intake. Some walking exercise while I was depositing my money. That is basically it. Off to go home now, I’d probably buy a pastry or something to tide me over for dinner because its going to take me a long time in commuting home again. Arrrggghh!

Day 1: Starting out

Yes, today is day 1 for me. When I woke up, I warmed up by doing sit ups. 50 sit-ups and then 20 crunches on the left and right side of my body. Whew! That was the first time in months that I did it. I used to do around 100 sit ups just to tone my abs before. It felt good! Carrying Z is also an exercise now. She weighed in at 11 kilos already. Talk about HEAVY! I weighed myself too, and to my surprise I returned to pre-Z weight, which means that I just weighed in at 51 kilos, 115-116 lbs. Am I glad. After carrying Z around the house, since it was raining I jogged around the house for like 10 minutes and boy was sweat dripping down my face. Ha Ha Ha! It felt so freaking good! I missed these times. I used to be an active gal before coming to Manila. I used to jog around the Fuente Circle like 10 times, I used to wall climb and also did fencing. I did Pilates once. Now, I’m raring to go back to these exercises and my grandpa and me made an exercise date. Together we will do like 10 minutes of jogging in our basketball court. I can’t wait for tomorrow. And what’s nice is that I feel great. Scientific studies say that by exercising you release endorphins in your body which are stuff that make you happy. Endorphins are the happy pills. So come tomorrow I will have a nice day by starting off with exercising. By golly, after all that sweat, I really do feel great. So couch potatoes out there, get your butt off the sofa and let’s sweat it out. Ha Ha Ha!

Lose Weight in 15 days

It’s the Christmas season. The time when ham and other fancy fare are always on the table. The time to splurge on the eating and just not worry about the pounds that are piling up. Hahahah! Well I am quite worried. Although I haven’t gained that much weight I still want to be thin. Not reed thin though. Just the right kind of thin so with this statement I will start my regimen that is going to last for 15 days. Hence the title, lose weight in 15 days! How do I start? Well for one thing, rice is now a big no-no in my diet. Less carbs for me. I do eat rice at least twice every day so now, I will adhere to that no-rice diet. Second, a promise to at least run for 15 minutes every morning in our subdivision. Keep the soda intake low and also other fatty and fried foods. Stick to steamed vegetables and other steamed stuff. I will officially weigh myself tomorrow so that I know if there have been any improvements at all. Wish me luck guys! One more thing I also promised to lift weights to tone my arms. Go bicycling on the weekends to exercise as well. Last but not least, more water intake. To cleanse the body and shed off some of those unwanted fats…

So the countdown begins…starting tomorrow!

A Commuters Lament!

This is something of a rant. I feel frustrated actually. In the previous months we saw the rising prices of fuel so our transport community did their strikes to be able to raise the cost of commuter’s fare and raise they did. They added to the usual fare and well I was pretty happy about that since I also felt for the plight of the drivers but now I am agitated. Now when the prices of oil has seen major rollbacks, the transport group takes its SWEET time in reducing our fare. Why does this happen? When its an increase, they want it fast but when its a decrease of fare, they take their ungodly time. They have taken advantage of the situation now. They say they are still not earning, heck if they are not then why are they still driving public transportation? I am an everyday commuter and as such feel the brunt and the frustration that when the prices of fuel has gone down nothing much is being done to lower down the fare as well. Quite convenient for drivers if you ask me. When its in their own best interest, they want it done fast but if its not, then it takes forever to have it done and they have all these excuses. I tell you, this SUCKS! Sucks big time! Most of all for the students who can barely go to school and for everybody trying to make a living. I could save up those 2 or 1 pesos for another day and make my savings bigger. Commuters unite!
